STEENSON & RINGERT LAW JOIN JIM BENNETTS LAW OFFICE

Dan Steenson and Ringert Law Chartered are joining Jim Bennetts, long-time attorney in Challis, Idaho, as Jim makes his transition to retirement.

In recent years, Jim has reduced his office hours to Mondays and Thursdays. Now, Jim will transition from the role of a primary legal service provider to a supporting advisor and consultant. Dan and Ringert Law will provide primary legal service with Jim’s support, continuing Jim’s tradition of service to the community.

Ringert Law is a full-service law firm. Dan has practiced law since 1990, specializing in the areas of water, natural resources, public lands and government regulatory issues. Dan has worked with Jim since the mid-1990s on a wide range of issues, has represented many Challis and central Idaho residents and property owners, and is well known in the community.

Jim, Dan, other Ringert Law attorneys and Melodie Baker, Jim's assistant, will continue to maintain regular office hours in Challis on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. During office hours on Mondays and Thursdays, an attorney will be available at Jim’s office, either in person or by video or telephone conference. Dan and the other Ringert Law attorneys are available by telephone any other business day.

April 4, 2011. Boise, Idaho. Ringert Law is pleased to announce that attorney Dan Steenson had a productive legislative session lobbying bills on behalf of Idaho's farmers and ranchers.

Mr. Steenson, together with lobbyist Roger Batt, represented such groups as the Idaho East Oregon Seed Association, Idaho Mint Growers Association, and the Coalition for Agriculture's Future, in obtaining enactment in to law of House Bill 210 and House Bill 148.

House Bill 210 strengthens Idaho's Right to Farm Act by expanding the definition of agricultural operations, allowing the provisions to apply to expanded operations, and protecting farmers and ranchers from nuisance lawsuits.

House Bill 148 requires county land planners to evaluate the impact of zoning and development on agriculture before approving changes.

These new laws will serve to strengthen Idaho's $5.78 billion farm economy.

May 2010 - Laura Burri publishes article on mortgage lender status in bankruptcy court

May 11, 2010 - Jim Reid comments on law school expansion

January, 2010 - Defense verdict obtained by Jim Reid and David Claiborne

Ringert Law is pleased to announce that firm partners, James G. Reid and David P. Claiborne, succesfully represented a client in a recent trial before a jury in Ada County, Idaho.  The case involved a forklift accident on property owned by the firm's client and leased out to a granite retail company.  The jury returned a verdict in favor of the firm's client, determining he had no fault in the cause of the forklift accident.

Ringert Law had the honor of participating in one of Boise's best service-oriented traditions - Rake Up Boise 2009. In total - volunteers all around the Treasure Valley raked up 751 yards for Boise's senior and disabled residents.

The Ringert Law team consisted of attorneys, staff and family members. Sixteen of us showed up on a chilly Saturday morning in November! In addition to the fulfillment that came with serving the community, we enjoyed the opportunity to spend some quality time together and get our hands dirty for a good cause.

As a firm, we look forward to participating in more of the excellent community involvement projects around the Treasure Valley!

October, 2009 - Charlie Honsinger wins $118,000 jury verdict

Ringert Law is pleased to announce that firm partner, Charles L. Honsinger, succesfully represented a client of the firm before the Honorable Candy Dale in the United States Magistrate Court for the District of Idaho.  The case involved a liquid propane explosion in a client's building that was caused by improper installation of supply lines by the propane supply company.  The case was tried before a jury, which returned verdict in favor of the firm's client in the amount of $118,000.
